Lovely picture from Dave. I think the ridges on the left are for trapping wind blown snow, they are often seen on this glacier. At the far right is the tongue of the glacier, it used to be skiable as the "Tignes Wall" but the glacier has retreated so it now is just a nasty rock face. There may be some narrow paths down but I would not like to try. On 24 Dec we crossed the glacier, see out track as the light gray line just right of the ridges on the left. The glacier has shrunk so much that we had to climb 10 or 15 metres of steep rock/snow to get onto the far sholder. We then skiied on to near the mid point of the Col des Ves chair. It is a beautiful area and very quiet.
